Mirror Pond, Spokane WA

Mirror Pond is the center piece to the Manito Park in Spokane Washington. During the spring it serves as a shallow duck pond that people can relax by and get their feet wet. During the winter months it’s used by locals as an ice ring and is considered very safe since it’s only a couple feet at it’s deepest.

As I walked around the edge of the pond during the late winter months I noticed a grand fireplace near one side. As I got closer I was able to read the military memorial plaque’s inscription. It made me smile slightly to see it. Everyone who’s done something memorable should be remembered.
